さて、皆さんの輝かしい門出に当たり、二つ お話をしたいと思います。

一つ目は、感謝の気持ちを大切にしてほしい ということです。今日の日を迎えるまで、家族
や親戚、近所の方々、担任の先生をはじめ、たくさんの先生方、そしてスクールガードや読み 聞かせ、図書館支援、校庭の樹木の伐採やトイレ清掃といった環境整備、家庭科や図工、Umi 国際室などでの授業の支援をしてくださった本当にたくさんのボランティアの皆様をはじめ、今沢地区の多くの方々がいろいろなところで、
皆さんの面倒を見てくださいました。

Now, as you
all embark on your glorious journey, I would like to say two things.

First, I want you to cherish your feelings of gratitude. Until this day came, many people in the Imazawa area have looked after you in various ways, including your family, relatives, neighbors, your homeroom teacher, many other teachers, the school guards, the story-telling staff, the library staff, the environmental maintenance staff such as cutting down trees in the schoolyard and cleaning the toilets, and the many volunteers who helped with home economics, art, and Umi International Room classes.

ほめていただいたり、認めていただいたり、励まされたり 、時には厳しく注意をしてくださったりと、
温かいご指導を繰り返してくださったと思います。多くの方々が皆さんを支えてくださったことに対して、「ありがとうございました」という気持ちを素直に態度や言葉に表せるようにすることが大切です。
